N.B. This trip is fully booked. Click here To be notified of a new departure date.

In this 6-day Venice-Ravenna trip, Hanneke Lenders and Yvonne Hilgenkamp will show you the highlights and hidden gems of Venice, Ravenna, Padua and Bologna. Together with them, you will visit places you will see with different eyes or would otherwise have missed.

Venice
: the romantic water city where you will find no cars, only boats, gondolas, water taxis and over four hundred bridges, taking you to the most beautiful squares, countless narrow alleys and imposing buildings. The lively St Mark's Square with the magnificent Basilica and the impressive Doge's Palace, the thousands of pigeons and the many terraces provide a dream setting for this cultural trip. We go to Venice for the splendour of the doges, paintings by artists like Titian, Giorgione and Tintoretto, architecture by Andrea Palladio and Carlo Scarpa, modern art as seen in Peggy Guggenheim's charming museum and Tadeo Ando's Punta della Dogana. Will Venice still be around in 50 years? It remains to be seen. The city built on stilts threatens to slowly sink into the Adriatic Sea. So no time to waste, but book soon! During this trip, we also visit Ravenna which shows us the architecture and literally dazzling mosaics of the Byzantine Empire. We also visit the hushed medieval city centre of Bologna and to one of the most important works in art history: the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua with Giotto's colourful frescoes.
